I always want to give a book a chance no matter the good or bad reviews. As I began to read this book my mind began to drift to places unknown which is never a good thing when you have some people saying it was the best read ever. Now I don't know about most but the beginning of the story set a tempo that went down hill. So we have CJ and Iona who have been working together for 2 years but have never met face to face. She lives on a mountain with 2 dog, a goat, and some geese. He comes a knocking and she is high out of her mind opens the door and as soon as CJ sees her he picks her up and shoves his tongue down her throat in which the two of them begin to dry hump, where sister Cynthia or Cyn finds them and starts beating CJ with a broom. (I laughed at that part.) And after that part it went down hill because you find out Iona has been living on that mountain by herself since she was 14 and her brother and sister were OK with it. I have never not been able to finish a book even when I couldn't wrap my head around it. I think the characters were under developed, the sex were over the top, and by the end of the book I was just shaking my head. I wont discourage you from reading this book just because I was put off by it. But I will say read at your own risk.

This book has now been added to my favorites/must read again list. I highly recommend this book to anyone who like me loves the type of book you can't put down no matter how late it gets. This story was definitely not your typical girl meets boy romance. Trust me all of your emotions will be engaged in this one. Check it out you won't be sorry. HOT! HOT!IR
loved the book and especially when CJ & Iona finally meet and are about to have sex in here kitchen when her sister comes in on them and then he just sweeps here away to london and they finally have sex on a plane. need to have a sequel to this book about what happens to them in the future are there any kids involved?
I tried, but the dope smoking and drinking was not attractive at all. Then we had the man who comes in and just takes charge smoking cigars and drinking--ever smell a man's breath after these two things? Sexy does not come to mind. I tried, but sorry, I just lost interest in finishing--may try later on.
i really enjoyed this book alot. cj and iona were a great couple. at times though the character iona was a little flaky and acting more like a child then a grown women. but i liked the chemitry these two charaters had for each other. the other characters were pretty funny as well.

I liked the description of this book so I was willing to give a new writer a try. I can see where the writer was going, but there were just too many things about this story that completely turned me off. SORT OF SPOILER ALERT. So the heroine is a druggie, and the hero is a drunk. She is constantly smoking pot and it is really off-putting. Add that to the fact that the couple is constantly drinking. In the morning, in the afternoon, scotch, tequila, it goes on throughout the entire book. And I am not a teetotaler, but there is nothing sexy about people who are constantly drinking. The sex scenes are numerous, and they aren't poorly written, but the character development is so lacking that you can't get into it. The heroine is pretty childish and the hero is kinda blah. Yeah he's attractive but you don't really connect to him while reading it. And I don't like the way he talks to the heroine during sex. His dialogue is also pretty off-putting and not sexy. I knew I probably wouldn't like the book shortly into it, but I finished reading it so see how it would develop. I would say its a nice try, but could've been much better. I would probably read the author's next book just to see if the writing has improved. Practice makes perfect!
I have read this book at least 5 times. I loved the fact that Iona found that kind of love sight unseen. CJ is just what she needed. I hope on down the line Iona and CJ have children. To me this was really a good book.
I have to admit I loved this book. It was not your typical read where the heroine jumps in bed with the hero and the story ends with all being well. It this read we have Iona not knowing what to do. She loves CJ but is afraid because of past experiences including losing her parents in a fire and living alone. Iona is smart and runs a successful business from her home. Personal relationships; however, are something that she is not familiar. One comment she made to CJ was that she was an almost virgin because she didn't know if the guy trying to rape her was big enough to break her hymen.

There are times when you have to laugh, want to cry, and have to love the hot sex. My only complaint is the author's use of the word "I'ma". Iona used it three times and CJ and her sister once each. If someone was editing I cannot see how that passed. It made no context within a sentence at all.
